Tour of the National Gallery of Art.
The KFNV Metro Club will metro to the National Gallery of Art East Wing for a docent tour of the current exhibit - Elizabeth Catlett: A Black Revolutionary Artist. Ms. Catlett addressed the injustices she witnessed and experienced in America and Mexico through her bold prints and dynamic sculptures.
In addition to the docent tour, we’ll be able to learn more about her life during the hour long film, Betty y Pancho, a portrait of Elizabeth Catlett and her artist husband Francisco Mora, made by Catlett’s son.
Weather permitting, we’ll lunch at the Pavilion Cafe before walking through the museum’s sculpture garden.
The group will meet at the Shady Grove metro by 9:20 to board the train at 9:36, arriving at Judiciary Square by 10:15, in time to walk .6 miles to the museum for our docent tour at 11:00
