What an inaugural year this has been for King Farm Neighbors Village (KFNV)! We started out the year with in-person activities like our kick-off event in September 2019, Coffee and Conversations from September 2019 -February 2020, and two Book Club meetings in February and March of 2020. Then COVID-19 hit. However, true to the KFNV mission of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” KFNV pivoted to virtual events via Zoom and added services such as pro-active check-in calls to members and recently a Voting Drop Box service for completed mail-in ballots as well as the dissemination through emails of important information regarding both the heath emergency and voting in the upcoming General Election. Moreover, the KFNV found “a silver lining in the pandemic cloud” with the renovation of the KFNV website during the spring pandemic pause/lock down, which as a result is now a more navigable hub of information for the community.
We invite all King Farm community residents to become members of the KFNV in order to participate in the services and events that we offer. Membership is free, but contributions are welcome; for these funds allow the KFNV the ability to continue to offer these services and events and plan for future activities as well. For information on how to become a KFNV member or to make a contribution, please contact the Member Coordinators at kfnvinfo@gmail.com, leave a voicemail at (301) 799-8104, or visit the KFNV website at www.kfnv.org.
The KFNV thanks you for your support during this first year and hopes to be able to continue to serve you and the community for many more years as “Neighbors Helping Neighbors.”
