It has been an incredibly busy and rewarding six months here at King Farm Neighbors Village (KFNV). From festive holiday giving to deep dives into local history and competitive trivia nights, our community has come together in so many wonderful ways.

Here is a look back at what we’ve been up to since December—and a sneak peek at what is coming next!

🎄 Giving Back & Spreading Cheer (December 2025)

We wrapped up 2025 with our annual Holiday Happy Hour at the King Farm Community Center. Neighbors caught up over delicious appetizers from Botanero Restaurant and wonderful drinks. Even better, our members showed immense generosity by donating two full boxes of toiletries, books, socks, and pajamas to Comfort Cases, an organization supporting children in foster care. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

🏛️ Staying Informed with Local Leadership (January 2026)

We kicked off the new year by welcoming Rockville City Councilmember Barry Jackson. He gave a thorough presentation on topics that directly impact King Farm residents, including updates on the Farmstead renovation and the upcoming Gude Drive entrance for the Senior Center.

⛰️ Uncovering Local History (February 2026)

Did you know Sugarloaf Mountain was almost chosen as Camp David? Ralph Buglass of Montgomery History joined us for an engaging, beautifully illustrated talk titled Sugarloaf: The Singular History of a Singular Mountain. We enjoyed it so much that we already have him booked for a return visit this fall!

📈 Planning for the Future (March 2026)

In March, the KFNV Board of Directors hosted the Annual Board Meeting and reception. It was wonderful to see so many King Farmers fill the Community Center as the Board reviewed our 2025 milestones and shared exciting intentions for the rest of 2026.

🧠 Game On! Our First Trivia Night (April 2026)

April brought a brand-new event to KFNV: our first-ever Trivia Night! Neighbors put their Jeopardy skills to the test, shared plenty of laughs, and met new friends. Because it was such a hit, we are definitely looking to make this a regular event.

📋 Empowering Our Seniors (May 2026)

Most recently, we hosted a vital presentation on Programs and Services for Older Adults in Montgomery County. Representatives from the county’s Commission on Aging shared excellent resources, answered questions, and provided helpful service handouts for our senior community members.

☀️ What’s Next? Save the Date!

The next six months promise to be just as engaging, and we are kicking things off with a summer celebration!

  • What: Summer Solstice Potluck Dinner (Members-Only Highlight Event)

  • When: Thursday, June 25, 2026 | 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

  • Where: King Farm Community Center

  • What to bring: Your favorite summer dish to share with your fellow King Farmers.

  • Other important information: Please take a look at the June edition of the Chronicle and the weekly King Farm Email Blast for more details about this upcoming event.

Looking ahead to September: Keep an eye out for details on our special September event with Ralph Buglass, who will return to help us celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of Montgomery County.

Thank you to all the volunteers, speakers, and neighbors who make KFNV such a vibrant community. See you at the potluck!
