The King Farm Neighbors Village (KFNV) hosted an array of highlight events from April through July.

Starting off in April, Erin Byrne, Director of Education and Community Outreach for TechMoxie LLC, presented the ABC’s of Staying Safe Online (and on the Telephone). KFNV participants learned how to protect themselves from online and telephone scams—a very timely topic. Then in May, the KFNV took a field trip to the Montgomery County Recycling Center. KFNV participants reported that the trip was highly educational and unexpectantly fun. In June the KFNV turned to a social activity with its yearly potluck dinner in the Community Center—Summer Soiree. All participants commented on the extensive and delicious foods that were offered as well as the opportunity to chat and dine with fellow King Farmers. Finally, in July, Steve Lorberbaum from Assisting Hands through his presentation, Choosing to Be at Home as We Age, provided KFNV participants with many resources for aging at home and for how to choose to age at home. The well-attended audience appreciated Mr. Lorberbaum very informative presentation and his willingness to answer their questions.

The KFNV hopes that these activities allowed King Farmers to connect with their neighbors-a connection that is part of the KFNV mission.
